Early exposure to and good experiences in nature are key to a child's future relationship and stewardship of our natural resources. This class is a relaxed and inviting experience for parents and young children (age 1-5) to enjoy nature together (no more than three children per adult please). Activities will include walks, meeting plant and animal friends and hearing stories. Parents will remain with children for entire class and should dress themselves and their child for outside activities. Learn how to build on young children's sense of wonder about nature and invite them to explore wildlife and the world around them. During the three-hour training workshop participants will sample activities and receive a curriculum and activity guide. Activities are adaptable for 3-7 year olds and is correlated to the National Association for the Education of Young Children Standards and the Head Start Domains. Teachers, informal educators and early childhood caregivers may take the training. Held at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, 2155 County Road 2008. 1-4 p.m.; fee $10; preregistration required.. In the Fall of 1621, the Pilgrims of Plymouth, Massachusetts were celebrating their new harvest with their Native American friends. What was going on down on the Texas Gulf Coast?
